Mr. Milius is a Managing Director at Brentwood Associates, a leading consumer-focused private equity investment firm
with a 30-year history of investing in leading middle-market growth companies. A veteran investor with nearly two
decades of experience in growth private equity, his investment and transaction experience covers a diverse group of
business and information services industries.
Milius formerly served as a General Partner at Austin Ventures ("AV"), a growth- focused private equity firm with $3.9
billion assets under management, where he spent 11 years helping launch and build its Growth Equity practice, in
addition to serving on its Investment and Operating Committees. During his tenure at AV, Milius pursued growth equity
and buyout investments by partnering with exceptional founders and CEOs to build leading, highly profitable
companies such as Asset International, CreditCards.com, HomeAway, Newgistics, and ReTrans through a
combination of strong organic growth initiatives, operational improvements, and strategic acquisitions.
Prior to joining AV, Milius was an investment professional with Primus Capital, a Cleveland-based private equity firm,
and worked for the Investment Banking division of Salomon Brothers Inc. Milius earned an MBA from the Kellogg
School of Management at Northwestern University and a BBA with Distinction from the Ross School of Business at
the University of Michigan.
Mr. Milius formerly served as a Managing Director/Partner of Genstar Capital, a leading mid-market private equity firm
with approximately $900 million under management. At Genstar, Mr. Milius targeted the business services and
healthcare services industries, with an emphasis on business process outsourcing and technology-enabled services
sectors. He was focused on $15 million to $60 million control equity investments in buyout, recapitalization and
growth transactions.
Previously, Mr. Milius was a principal and one of four co-founders of Gryphon Investors, a mid-market private equity
partnership with more than $500 million of capital under management. He was responsible for acquisitions,
divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies in a wide range of industries, with an emphasis on business services
and outsourcing-related transactions. Prior to that, Mr. Milius was an Associate at Golder, Thoma, Cressey & Rauner
(GTCR) where he was involved in sourcing and executing transactions in various service industry sectors. He began
his career in investment banking at Kidder, Peabody & Co.
Mr. Milius is a current or former director of Oasis Outsourcing, AXIA Health Management, PHNS, TASQ Technology,
Cummins Utility Supply and PartsChannel. Mr. Milius earned an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of
Business and a BBA with Distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
